The picture above left was taken at Alma Bridge.
To the right above is a little "artistic" picture taken because I like the
composition. The picture on the right below, was taken from opposite the Lifeboat Station. All were taken on 13th October 2009.

The light sometimes has a "magical" quality about it.

Rather like the carnival may have to do, the Sidmouth Folk Festival had to re-invent itself in order to survive. It was reduced in size and moved back into the town area. It is now concentrated on numerous small venues that are within easy walking distance of each other and are not too large to appear over commercialised. This has resulted in a far more "folksy" feel to the festival.

In September of every year Sidmouth hosts a street carnival. These are some images from the carnival held in 2007. Sadly this year (2009) may prove to have been the last one to be held in the near future. Cost and the lack of volunteers have been put forward as the many reasons for this probable demise.

It is hoped that this will not be allowed to happen but one cannot foresee a happy out come unless a benefactor is found who will underwrite the cost (and loss) associated with the event.

The Market Square in Sidmouth.

This house is on the esplanade in Sidmouth and the flowers are just wonderful for this time of year (October). Not only is the house looking good the view from the house is pretty good too.

This is the view from the house above, not bad for the second week in October! There were even a couple of children swimming in the sea further along the beach (such hardy souls!).
